Painting #16 CostelloSpaceArt

This painting is one of my favorites and is a very accurate scene of the Milky Way Galaxy. As with all my paintings, every star is placed one at a time and in its correct location. I used a moon chart to place the craters on the moon and the Earth shows the North and South America’s.  This painting took 6 months to complete and really gives the impression of seeing out in space, beyond our home planet to the hundreds of billions of stars in our galaxy.  Painting completed 2/2011
